Opening reflection by Steven Charleston
How still the waters of the Spirit, barely awake beneath the lazy breeze, barely moving toward any shore, but resting, floating on currents made old and wise by their long journeys beneath the sea. The sky above seems limitless on days like these, stretching so tightly over the rim of the Earth, blue as turquoise, another ocean, where the clouds drift like whales on their long migration. How peaceful it is when we can have a few minutes of eternity, a time to be held by arms older than the sea or sky, a time to be in communion with our own beginning, and our never ending, all at once. Come out on the water with me, out here on my raft, whenever you have the chance. Come out and let yourself feel again the strength of trust, the power of believing, the vision of still water and summer skies.

Lifting This Truth
Barely drift
currents to
eternity
communion never ending
trust.
