Pre-Walk Reflection by Steve Charleston
“Can you hear it, that sound of rustling wings all around us, brushing close unseen, as if angels walked beside us, hovered over us, moving before us to clear a way? Can you see it, the shimmering light of a halo, the glow of a different light in the eyes of friends, the star that seems to move? Can you hear it, the sound of a heartbeat, like a drum in the distance, keeping rhythm with our breathing? The presence of the sacred is tangible. The reality of the holy is sensual. The energy of God is a force that we can feel, see and hear. It is next to you now. It is the power of forever standing beside you.” — Chosen and read by Denise P.
Resurrection Fern — The raindrops revive it to its bright green lushness. Just as teardrops wash away the hurts and concerns in my own life and I am renewed. — Photo and reflection by Kay P.

My intention for this walk focused on healing and love for family and friends who are facing struggles. I was immediately struck by the constancy of the wonderful breeze — feeling like the loving breath of the Holy Spirit washing over my loved ones and me. And as I passed the beautiful resurrection fern it spoke to me of struggle, dormancy, death, renewal and rebirth – all necessary for growth in my spiritual and physical journey.
As I walked the labyrinth I felt the breeze from different directions as I turned the corners — from the front in resistance, from the back in support, and from both sides in confusion. This process of healing is fluid, and often very difficult, but God is with us every step of the way. The light, intermittent rain and the drops rippling on the water also spoke of this fluidity.
I strongly felt that the greatest role I can play in the healing process is to deeply love my family and friends, as well as all those struggling around the globe. — Photo and reflection by Nancy L.
