The Beauty of Perspective … Looking at the early morning tidal pool from one perspective all I saw was stillness etched in the sand; from another perspective it was teeming with movement, water flowing back to its source, the shadow of a tadpole reflected on the bottom, a perfect shell nearly covered in a ripple of sand. If I had only looked from one perspective I would have missed the wonder of the other. — Reflection by Sandy

Turn your face to the sun, and the shadows fall behind you – Maori proverb — photo and reflection by Mary W.

The Earth offers gift after gift—life and the living of it, light and the return of it, the growing things, the roaring things, fire and nightmares, falling water and the wisdom of friends, forgiveness…Failing to notice a gift dishonors it, and deflects the love of the giver. That’s what’s wrong with living a careless life, storing up sorrow, waking up regretful, walking unaware. But to turn the gift in your hands, saying “this is wonderful and beautiful,” honors the gift and the giver. “This is your work…substance and prayer and mad attentiveness, which is the real deal, which is why we are here. from Wild Comfort, by Kathleen Moore — pre-walk reading selected by Amy

Gratitude … I was incredibly grateful today for so many blessings in my life, both large and small…. For the intricate nature of spider webs… and for bare feet in the cool sand and surf — reminding me to play and laugh and let go! — Photos and reflection by Nancy L.
